Abstract

This text attempts to organize and systematize, even if as an introduction, the development of feministthought and praxis. We start from the challenge of defining feminism and along the way we explain twoquestions. First of all, the need to mention it in the plural: feminisms. Secondly, the complexity of givinga single, complete definition to the concept of feminism.We expose how various thinkers inside and outside the academy have contributed to social andphilosophical thinking with concepts and approaches that today allow us to analyze a reality that werecognize as unfair and unequal and that we intend to transform. Along this path, we understand thatthe framework of concepts such as patriarchy, gender, heteronorm, sexual division of labor, amongothers, have a history and the same occurs with the various feminisms.
