Abstract

Posicions about Latin-American Marxism are presented here. One of the first controversial points was undoubtedly the one characterized by one of the most audacious thinkers, the peruvian José Carlos Mariátegui (1895-1930). The analyses of different authors who studied Mariátegui are proposed, such as Adolfo Sánchez Vázquez or Aníbal Quijano; along with different discussions between Mariátegui and his peers. In this text, the works written and presented by Mariátegui at the 1929 Conference have a key role, most specifically Anti-imperialist Point of View (Punto de Vista Antimperialista) and The Problem of the Races in Latin America (El Problema de las razas en la América Latina). The author deeply analized the latter in his widely known report. All in all, it is herein proposed a reflection on the works of the intelectual peruvian Mariátegui, his contributions to situated thinking and the controversies generated from this, in what has been called Latin American Marxism.
