La Capilla del Hospital Italiano en La Matanza. Obra relevante de arquitectura del Ing. Delpini

Resumen

En el partido de La Matanza, Provincia de Buenos Aires, se erige una obra que por su diseño estructural constituye un hito en la historia de la arquitectura argentina, junto a otras dos situadas en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, realizadas por el Ingeniero José Luis Delpini. Se trata de la Capilla del Hospital Italiano de San Justo.El objetivo de este trabajo es mostrar las características de este templo y contextualizarla en la obra de quien fuera el ejecutor de su diseño particular y totalmente novedoso para la época de su construcción. Como antecedentes sólo se habían hallado unas pocas menciones acerca de esta obra arquitectónica que, dada la maestría aplicada en su diseño estructural, debe ocupar un lugar destacado dentro del patrimonio cultural de esta región del conurbano bonaerense.Se llegó a su estudio indagando, a través de técnicas de historia oral, sobre los inmigrantes de distintos orígenes que eligieron esta geografía provincial para radicarse. Fue así como desde la Capilla del Sagrado Corazón se reconstruyeron los vínculos de la comunidad italiana local con el mundo cultural de la década del ´40 en Argentina.THE CHAPEL IN THE HOSPITAL ITALIANO IN LA MATANZA.RELEVANT ARCHITECTURAL WORK OF ENGINEER DELPINISummaryIn the Municipality of La Matanza, Province of Buenos Aires, there stands a building which, due to its structural design, represents a milestone in the history of Argentinean architecture, along with two more buildings located in the city of Buenos Aires. This building is the Chapel in the Hospital Italiano in San Justo.The purpose of this paper is to show the features of this temple and to contextualize it in the work of he who was the creator of its particular design, absolutely cutting-edge in the times during which it was built. The history found about it only included a few mentions about this architectural work which, given the mastery used in its structural design, should hold a privileged position among the cultural heritage of this region of the Greater Buenos Aires. This study was carried on using oral history techniques to find information about the immigrants from different origins who chose this provincial location to settle down.  Thus, starting from the Capilla del Sagrado Corazón (Sacred Heart Chapel), the bonds of the local Italian community with the cultural world of the 1940s in Argentina were rebuilt.Keyswords: Cultural heritage, Oral history; Regional history, José Luis Delpini, La Matanza.
