Abstract

Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House is a play from the late 19th century that was revolutionary for its time because it questioned the role and freedoms to which a woman was entitled. This is because the protagonist of the story, Nora Helmer, has a great conflict with her husband, after which she suddenly decides to leave him to find herself.
This play has two versions written in the 21st century. The first is Dear Ibsen, I am Nora by Griselda Gambaro, in which we find a Nora who from the beginning is unhappy with the treatment she receives from her husband and questions Ibsen, who is now another character, the reason for her misfortunes. The second was written and performed by students of Performing Arts at the National University of La Rioja. Images of a Door That Closes begins at the height of the conflict and its staging has five actresses who embody Nora at the same time.
In this paper, these works will be taken as the object of study and a discursive analysis of Nora's body will be carried out with the aim of demonstrating and describing the empowerment and liberation of the passions and emotions of this character. To do so, the theoretical framework will be used to use the concepts of discourse and power that Foucault sets forth in The Order of Discourse. In addition, multiple meanings of the concept of body and identity will be taken into account, as stated by researchers Liuba Kogan and Isabel Clúa in their articles The Wild Side of Life: Bodies and Emotions and Gender, Body and Performativity, respectively. Likewise, Silvina Sánchez's paper, Flowers of Fire. Monster-Women in the Narrative of Gabriela Cabezón Cámara and Mariana Enríquez will be consulted to complete the profile of Nora as a dissident being.
