Abstract

This paper is the result of the presentation “Convidar la calle” (Inviting the Street) at the I Congreso de Artes Escénicas de la Universidad Nacional de La Rioja. It reflects on the path traced by the research team “A Cielo Abierto: Laboratorio coreopolítico de prácticas de intervención en el espacio público”, which is part of the Limb0 call of the Programa de estudios experimentales del CIPAD (UPC). With an interest in public spaces as stages where meanings are contested, powers are exerted, and sensitivities and affections are constructed, we explore various methodologies to intervene in these spaces in a coreopolitical way (Lepecki, 2011). Guided by the desire to sensitize and build community, we ask ourselves how to approach intervention: through encounters or as ruptures in everyday rhythms? In what ways should we practice the city in these times? This exploration draws on two fields of action: one related to interventions in demonstrations and the other to relational practices in public squares and parks. In this context, we identify two spheres: one we call spectacular, with a broader scope, and another that is intimate. In the following pages, we will introduce key concepts and notions that support our research and describe some of the procedures and experiences that exemplify different ways of embodying the premise adopted from the collective La Liga Tensa: "Perception is a political act, and it is in dispute" (Vogrig Nardini, 2022, p.11).
