Abstract

This work reflects on the validity of social institutions, their connections with public policies and, therefore, with the social question. It attempts to work on the challenges related to the intervention of social work on these situations. The concept and the role of the State, social policies and educational institutions will be analized. The main demands to professional intervention are recognized and some clues for a strategic study of school situations are suggested.
