Professional intervention in neoliberal capitalism: revisiting the rights approach from critical theories of the South.

Abstract

This work is a theoretical reflection on the notion of human rights as a hegemonic grammar of human dignity, critically analyzed on the basis of chapter II of the Federal Law of Social Work Nº 27072, which refers to professional exercise. From this point of view, the contradictions and historical conflicts of such grammar are considered by linking these processes to the challenges of social work within the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to do this, important features of the social and historical experience of our country are described and analyzed, in particular, of the northwest region of Argentina (NOA), with an emphasis (though not exclusively) on general governmental directions. The work concludes with projective reflections for professional exercise that may allow us to develop with and from subordinate sectors, so that a new world may be built, starting with the local.
