LA OBRA GRÁFICA DE EGAR MURILLO, EL ARTISTA CRÍTICO COMO RECOLECTOR DE LA HISTORIA

Resumen

Egar Murillo hacia el 2006 trabaja en una serie de piezas e instalacionesen las que estampa imágenes tomadas de la prensa y la publicidad, pertenecientesa distintos momentos de la historia violenta de la Argentina. Lasimágenes son seriagrafiadas sobre packagins de cartón ha recolectado ensu deriva por la ciudad.Murillo utiliza como estrategia de formulación visual montajes en los que elsentido se produce por las tensiones entre la información del packaging, sumaterialidad y las fotografías estampadas. Este montaje dialéctico permiteinscribir a las obras en la genealogía del arte crítico.Las imágenes fotográficas son rescatadas del desgaste que se produce ensu circulación masiva y también es preservado, en parte, el sentido políticovinculado a su contexto original. Además estas imágenes son relocalizadasen el presente al ser presentadas en una instalación artística. En este presente,las imágenes montadas, con sus distintas temporalidades pretéritas,aparecen cargadas de diferentes experiencias patéticas. La lectura crítica dela historia, surge ante el extrañamiento, que nos obliga como espectadoresa tomar distancia y a posicionarnos ante los hechos de violencia de nuestrahistoria reciente. ABSTRACTBy the year 2006, Egar Murillo worked on a series of pieces and installationsin which he printed images taken from the press and advertising. These imagesshow scenes of violent episodes of the history of Argentina and consistof serigraphies on carton packaging collected by the artist in his wanderingsaround the city.Murillo uses montage as a visual formulation strategy, where the sense emergesthrough the tension between the packaging information, its materialityand the serigrafied images. This dialectical montage engraves his works inthe genealogy of critical art.Photographic images are saved from the deterioration of mass circulationand preserve, in part, the political sense linked to their original context. Inaddition, these images are relocated in the present time by being exhibited inan artistic installation. In this present time, the mounted images, together withtheir various past temporalities, acquire with different pathetic experiences.The critical review of history arises from the estrangement which, as spectators,forces us to take a stance and distance ourselves from the violent factsof recent history.Key words: Egar Murillo, visual arts, critical art, montage, history
