EL CLUB SOCIAL COMO REPRESENTACIÓN SOCIAL Y MODELADOR DE LA ÉLITE DE LA RIOJA AL COMIENZO DEL SIGLO XX

Resumen

Este trabajo investiga el rol de Club Social en la caracterización de la identidad
social de la elite dirigente de La Rioja, a partir del aporte que significó
la socialización de sus miembros en sus instalaciones, creando información
acerca de sí y de los otros, como parte del dispositivo para adoptar sistemas
de categorización y evaluación de pertenencia, con el objetivo de representar
en exclusividad la esencia de la riojanidad.
Mediante metodología de Historia Oral se procedió a analizar relatos, y se
contrastó con publicaciones existentes en archivos y bibliotecas.
La conclusión a que se arribó da respuesta a la hipótesis acerca del contenido
simbólico del Club, interpretando, a partir de él, los dispositivos de
construcción de identidad que operaron como mecanismos de control social.

ABSTRACT

This paper investigates the role of the Social Club in the shaping of the social
identity of the ruling elite of La Rioja, based on the contribution of the socialization
of members in its facilities and creating information about the self and
the others as part of the device implemented to adopt systems of categorization
and evaluation of membership, with the aim of exclusively representing
the essence of the identity of La Rioja.
With the methodology of Oral History, a series of stories were analyzed and
contrasted with existing publications in archives and libraries.
The conclusion provides answers to the hypothesis of the symbolic content
of the Club, obtaining an interpretation of the devices of identity construction
that operated as mechanisms of social control.
