En este trabajo aplicamos la noción de apropiación inversa y la de visión de mundo, en términos de Lucien
Goldmann, al análisis de la estructura en el relato breve de Toni Morrison, “Recitado”. En dicho relato, la
autora se apropia de una estructura musical blanca, europea, y la transforma para dar cuenta de la historia
de las diferencias raciales en Estados Unidos en una época determinada, pero narrada a partir de la
contramemoria y según los criterios para concebir la historia que surgen de la cosmovisión
afroestadounidense.
WORLD VIEW AND REVERSE APPROPRIATION IN “RECITATIF”, BY TONI MORRISON
Abstract
In this essay, we apply Lucien Goldmann’s notion of world-view and the notion of reverse appropriation to the
analysis of the structure in Toni Morrison’s short story, “Recitatif”. In that text, the author takes hold of a white
European musical structure and transforms it, in order to provide an account of the history of racial differences
in the United States at a given time, from the point of view of counter-memory and according to criteria
springing from the Afro-American world view in her narration of historical events.
