Between art, esotericism and technology. An interview with Claudia Melo
Keywords:
visual arts, esotericism, new technologies, interdisciplinaryAbstract
In this interview with Argentine visual artist Claudia Melo, we talk about art in relation to esotericism and
technology applied to the generation of images. These topics appear in her artistic projects and they define
an original aesthetic, where the transcendent and the sublime alternate with disturbing everyday scenes.
Her work can be interpreted as the result of a process where diverse subjective experiences and fields of
knowledge intersect. Some projects are the product of an interdisciplinary work that draws from Western
artistic tradition, Eastern wisdom, spiritual knowledge and the answers offered by current digital media.
Finally, we exchange common interests approached from different perspectives. Such exchanges focus on
the physical and virtual object, and on authentic magic and illusionism.
