Abstract

This article is an approach to the career of René Descartes and the participation of stress in his philosophical
path, assimilating Mark Fisher as a reference, based on a political-religious criticism in the social context that
could influence the thinker's work. French. In short, the political and religious influence in Descartes' life, along
with his search for certainty and his focus on reason, could have contributed to the stress he experienced.
