Abstract

This article focuses on the topic of power. It addresses ten issues related to this concept that obviously do not
exhaust its treatment, but offer a broad perspective on what power implies in the social and political world. It
analyzes how power is presented in social life, its contribution to configuring and enhancing social
asymmetries, its strength in social order, its concentrating tendency and its permanent search for legitimation,
its capacity to influence social time and to re-signify the relational spaces, their strength to configure different
social worlds, as well as their potential to encourage liberationist processes and community organization
