Educability from a Psychoeducational Perspective
Keywords:
educability, school failure, unit of analysis, subjective development, notion of deficitAbstract
Educability refers to people's ability to learn and develop within an educational environment. This concept has been approached from various perspectives, including biological, sociological, and psychoeducational viewpoints. While the first two tend to focus on pathological aspects or social conditions, the psychoeducational perspective emphasizes the importance of a contextual approach that considers both the individual and school practices. From this standpoint, it is essential to redefine units of analysis, reassess the conception of subjective development, and challenge the fallacy of the deficit category.Downloads
