What to do in Social Work.

Here I share part of the thesis that I wrote to obtain my master's degree, which I finished on December 2008. I focused on trying to get closer to theoretical and epistemological presuppositions which underlie social work as a discipline. The thesis work suggests that it is possible to think of a more specific framework of the social work field in spite of existing ambiguities about the origin of social work as a discipline, of the heterogeneous definition of its "object" and of the merging of different theoretical aspects from other social disciplines. I analyse here the different syllabuses, both from Argentina and from the rest of Latin America, in order to see how they vary regarding the denominations of Social Work, the objectives pursued and the graduate profiles.
