Abstract

In 2018, in Mexico, there started the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, leader of the political party Movimiento de Regeneración Nacional (MORENA by its Spanish Acronym). His government proposal set a new educational program called New Mexican School, something that was achieved through the Secretariat of Public Education (SEP), which is the institution in charge of education in that country. In a very specific way, this article analyses the actions that are being taken to build intercultural citizenships after six years. Structurally, we will analyze the guidelines and the public policies that the Mexican state is developing to build intercultural citizenships, and the actions that the SEP and the schools are performing for interculturality. We will take as case study the indigenous primary school: ManeaderoIII, which is located in Maneadero, a place that belongs to the municipality of Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.
