Este trabajo explora dos novelas del autor estadounidense John Irving: El Mundo Según Garp (1976) y ElHotel New Hampshire (1981) y pone la lupa en la construcción que en estos textos se hace de la ciudadaustriaca de Viena. Irving da su visión sobre la función del arte en general y la literatura en la primera y uncontra discurso sobre la sexualidad humana en la THE WORLD ACCORDING TO IRVING AFTER VIENNAAbstractThis work explores two novels by American author John Irving, The World According to Garp (1976) and TheHotel New Hampshire (1981) and focuses on the construction of the Austrian city of Vienna that these textsreproduce. Irving provides his views on the function of art in general and literature in the first novel and acounter discourse on human sexuality in the second.
