In this article, the words and drawings of the residents are recovered from the focus groups and the submission
of a subsequent questionnaire. The focus groups were carried out with different groups of trainees of ISFD N° 1,
2 and 3 of the Province of La Rioja, Argentina, during the years 2015, 2018 and 2021. In the Questionnaires, the
central premise has been: Identify in a word and a drawing what “being a trainee” means. The central objective is
to analyze the ways of communicating the representations of being a trainee in which feelings are imbricated. We
worked with young people who were going through the assistantship process in the province's teacher training
schools. This group is made up of male and female students in their twenties and thirties. The word and the graphic
expression included are the result of a selection that shows the attribution of meanings to the feeling of being
trainee. As for the Methodology, in order to carry out the analysis, an exhaustive reading of each questionnaire
was made in order to contextualize the interpretation of the drawings. From the presentation and description of
each one, some axes are identified in terms of closure and synthesis. That is to say, there is a path from the voices
of the trainee to the concept derived from the drawings, to the analysis of the axes that group them.
